Norway is beautiful for its nature, but also for the architecture. This one combines both, if you like both it is a recommendation for sure.

Designed by ・ Snøhetta

It is an amazing small viewpoint built by Snøhetta Architects (famous for the opera in Oslo among others). The wooden appearance fits perfectly in the raw landscape. Truly beautiful, the view and the architecture of the viewpoint, worth every step. The building design is based on a contrast between ideas - a rigid outer shell and a soft, organic inner core.  The wooden core is shaped like rock or ice that has been eroded by natural forces like wind and running water, and is placed within a rectangular frame of raw steel and glass.

Architectural beauty in beautiful nature

Organic wooden structure

Very nice and particular structure that allows a perfect view of the surrounding area: occasionally the muskoxes can be spotted near the lake in the distance with the help of binoculars. We had the chance to observe this one and only muskoxes. Thanks for a great experience.

About reflection

Dovrefjell is home to Europe's last wild reindeer herds and is the natural habitat for many rare plants and animals.

Always take the scenic road ・ I can say, it was the most beautiful road trip ever. You’ll find unexpected rest stops, breathtaking viewpoints and stunning Norwegian architecture ♡
